My Take on Rand Paul’s Endorsement of Mitt Romney | Planet Infowars
First off, Rand Paul was never a “member” of his father Ron’s “Liberty Movement.” He supported his dad, sure, and shares many of the ideals that his father has. However, he’s never been more than a “friend” of the movement. The movement is his dad’s baby and his dad is the one leading it. I also don’t think that Rand’s endorsement of Romney is a betrayal of his principles. It just shows that he’s gentlemanly and that he’s more of an establishment Republican than Ron is. I realized that about Rand last July when the U.S. Senate voted unanimously to retain Robert Mueller as the Director of the FBI. For the vote to be unanimous, everyone, including Rand, had to vote “yes.” I also don’t blame Rand for endorsing Romney in part to protect his own political career. As a senator, he has a lot of power that can be used to help restore liberty and Constitutionality. I don’t see Rand as a traitor, just a man taking the lemon of his father not becoming the Republican Presidential nominee and making lemonade with his endorsement of Romney.
